About Hedlin's Family Farm
Hedlin’s Family Farm is owned and operated by Kai Ottesen and Jules Riske. We met at a farmers market many years ago, where we had back-to-back produce stalls. Kai is part of the fourth generation of farmers managing the family land in La Conner; keeping up the tradition of growing good food for our community. Together we are farming alongside the 3rd generation (Hedlin Farms) as we continue a long-term farm transition. Both farms grow certified organic crops, but never the same products - whether you are buying big, beautiful peppers from Hedlin Farms or delicious, juicy strawberries from Hedlin’s Family Farm, you are supporting local agriculture, our extended family, and our employees. Hedlin’s Family Farm sells direct through our on-farm retail store in addition to our wholesale crops. During the summer, our main wholesale crops are strawberries, diverse lettuces, zucchini, basil and cut flowers. In the fall and winter we offer sweet potatoes, garlic, and a wide variety of pumpkins and winter squash.
