About Threeway Farms L.L.C.
Threeway Farms is a century family farm. Over the years, we have been in operation as a raiser of livestock, grain crops, and vegetables. In 1976, Al Smith took 50 acres for the sale and production of vegetables, strawberries, and melons. His farm gradually grew from a wholesale business to providing quality produce directly to customers at multiple market locations. Al Smith passed away in March 2022, leaving his farm to his niece, Elizabeth Gilmore. She's working in close collaboration with a farmer whom Al has mentored over the last decade, continuing the legacy that Al has started. The farm operates a seasonal roadside stand on the premises, and currently attends three Northern Virginia Markets: Mt. Vernon, Falls Church, and Del Ray. Threeway Farms is located in Westmoreland County in the Northern Neck of Virginia, a peninsula between the Potomac and Rappahannock Rivers. The climate and soil is ideal for vegetable production. Our farming practices include Integrated Pest Management (IPM) with as little pesticide and fungicide use as possible. We practice crop rotations, irrigation, and use of pollinators such as honey bees. When weather condition and insect infection warrant the use of spraying, we strictly follow the latest updates from Virginia Tech Commercial Grower's Handbook. We take pride in growing and providing our costumers with good, fresh produce according to seasonal growing conditions. We have build meaningful relationships with many of our costumers, and hope to see you at one of our locations soon!
