About Able Acres Market Garden
Project Independence is a service model developed to meet the needs of aging people with disabilities. Our goal for Project Independence is to provide support, skill development, tools, and resources to help underserved adults reach their highest level of independence. VersAbility has expanded Project Independence offerings by creating inclusive community events, that nurture self-determination, independence, sense of belonging and authentic community integration with Able Acres Market Garden . VersAbility’s Able Acres Market Garden is primarily led by adults with disabilities attending our Day Support programs. Beginning in May 2023 and continuing through September, with support from our Direct Support Professionals and our community business partners, VersAbility will be engaged with our community outside every Wednesday and Thursday from 10-2 selling vegetable plants. Able Acres and Project Independence also run a biweekly Garden Committee Meetings to plan and discuss future garden projects and vending events such as The Daffodil Festival in Gloucester.
