About Lynchburg Grows
Lynchburg Grows is a nonprofit farm in the heart of the city with the mission of working with the community to provide access to healthy food, and to afford purposeful jobs to individuals with disabilities. We produce thousands of pounds of food every season and distribute it through our Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program that includes CSA Scholarships for members who need help affording food; through a produce prescription program called FreshRx, which combines free produce with nutrition and cooking classes taught by Va Cooperative Extension educators, and through food donations to other area nonprofits that are working to help meet the basic needs of the community. Produce is also available for sale to the public at The Farm Store, which is on site at Lynchburg Grows and open every Thursday from 9am to 1pm, April through November. The Farm Store offers produce and fruit from our farm and from other local farms and orchards, along with local eggs, honey, and specialty items like cheese and pasta from local food artisans. We offer Virginia Fresh Match incentives, so all SNAP/EBT users get 50% off all fruits and vegetables at The Farm Store and 50% off CSA membership.
