About A Farm Less Ordinary
A Farm Less Ordinary (AFLO) is a 501(c)3 non-profit farm whose mission is to provide employment, skill development, and a welcoming community to adults with intellectual, developmental, and cognitive disabilities (IDCD). We sell our produce, finished products, and flower bouquets through our weekly farmers markets, CSA program, and at our farm to table events throughout the year. Our Growers (our “employees”) plant, cultivate, and harvest all our produce from start to finish. At our farmers market booth and through our CSA program, our Growers learn retail skills and gain confidence through interaction with the public. Our Growers gain kitchen/food safety skills in the creation of our highly popular jams, jellies, and pickles in our finished products program. And finally, in our cut flower production our Growers express themselves creatively in the creation of bouquets.
