About Webb Farms of VA, LLC
Webb Farms of VA, LLC was founded by Dr. Randy C. Webb and his son, Caleb C. Webb in 2019. The idea for the retail beef business was that of Caleb's, after graduating from Virginia Tech with a degree in Agricultural Management. Randy had a long history in agricultural business and education. Randy graduated from Ferrum College with a degree in agriculture with a focus on animal science and business management. After working in the family produce and trucking business for over twenty years he return to college at Virginia Tech, and earned a Master's degree in Career and Technical education, followed by a PhD in Agricultural Leadership and Community Education. The Webb family has been producing quality commercial beef cattle here in Southwest Virginia for over 75 years. They take great pride in their management practices which are focused on safe humane treatment of our animals, with a focus on Beef Quality Assurance (BQA). The BQA program is a national program that raises consumer confidence through offering proper management techniques and a commitment to quality within every segment of the beef industry. In August of 2019, they began offering beef products as a value-added retail product. This offering brings you a Angus-Angus-cross beef products selected based on each animals beef producing merits. The beef is not 100 percent grass feed, but they do receive some supplemental feeds and minerals. These supplemental feeds are part of the management practice which help to keep the animals claim and happy. And happy animals make better beef. The retail beef is antibiotic and hormone free. At processing the beef is aged 14 days, and flash frozen at an USDA inspected processing facility. In the fall of 2021 the decission to include pork in the operations retail meat business began. The pork is processed at the same USDA processing plant as the beef. The Webb family hope that you will contact them and try their product, as they look forward to working with you.
