About Giant Oaks Farm and Orchard
Giant Oaks Farm and Orchard Our farm will open as a Bed and Breakfast in September 2010. Our farm is located in beautiful Halifax County, Virginia and is within the Staunton River Historical Area and only 2 miles from the Staunton River Battlefield State Park. Our onsite farm store will be open from March through November selling organically raised produce and fruit raised on our farm. We have apples, peaches, cherries, plums,necterines, and grapes. We sell our own homemade jams, jellies, relishes, fresh baked goods, cured hams, bacon, and smoked chickens and turkeys as well as fresh eggs from our Road Island Red free range chickens. We raise Chinese Geese, Ducks, Heritage Turkeys, Piedmontese Pasture Fed Cattle, Mulefoot and Tamworth Hogs. We have an online store at our website and our farm is considered an AgriTourism farm. We have special weekend events planned for the entire family throughout the year and are open for tours. It is our desire to make this a fun informative place to come and visit. We are a currently registered USDA farm and are pending Organic Certification. We are raising Piedmontese Pasture fed Cattle, Mulefoot and Tamworth Hogs, Free Range Chickens, Geese, Ducks, and Turkeys.
