About Fork and Hoe Farm
Fork and Hoe Farm We here at Fork and Hoe believe that the health of the soil is vital to insuring your vegetables are as nutritious as they can be, while also maintaining fertility of the soil for the next generation. We see ourselves as soil farmers. It's our job to keep the soil healthy without artificial intervention like heavy machinery and chemicals. Our name represents our technique of using mostly hand tools so that we don't disturb the amazing ecology of the soil. Our produce is the freshest and healthiest it can possibly be! We grow unique and tasty vegetables like rainbow carrots, hakurei turnips, fairytale eggplant, Armenian striped cucumber, heirloom tomatoes, red kuri squash, escarole (and other Italian chicory crops), broccoli rabe, and salad greens as well as microgreens and foraged mushrooms. We love interacting with nature and working on her terms in order to get some of the tastiest and nutritious food there is! We don't use any chemicals, our weed and pest control uses natural strategies like fabric and netting and flame weeding for example. We maximize the space in our garden and keep our surrounding ecosystem intact. Sign up for our CSA (April-Sept) and pick up a box every week at Del Ray Farmers Market - Alexandria, Virginia.
