About Prospect Ridge Farms, Inc
Prospect Ridge Farms, Inc. is a small family farm in south-central Tennessee committed to providing fresh, clean, wholesome food. We offer pastured grass-fed/finished LAMB and BEEF . We offer pastured poultry ( chickens ) supplemented only with custom milled corn-free, soy-free, non-GMO feed. We utilize intensive rotational grazing practices, moving our livestock every 24-48 hours and our poultry every 12 hours. This protects our soil, our pastures, our environment, and our livestock. Our lamb is processed from the Katahdin breed of hair sheep, producing a superior quality meat product with a milder taste than is more commonly associated with lamb. We are USDA meat producers operating under a TN Department of Agriculture permit and currently the only producer in southern middle Tennessee offering USDA inspected and humanely processed poultry products free of corn, soy, and GMOs. We are dedicated to education, association, and practices that are holistic and sustainable. We are Certified Tennessee Master Small Ruminant Producers, Certified Tennessee Farmer’s Market Vendors, and members of Katahdin Hair Sheep International, and PickTN Products. Our laying hens have full run of the farm to forage. Like our broilers, they are supplemented with corn-free, soy-free, non-GMO feed, organic flaxseed, and grubs. In our market garden, we produce okra, beans, peas, sweet potatoes, garlic, onions, lettuce, radishes, and kohlrabi. While we are not certified ‘organic,’ we grow plants from organic seeds, using organic growing processes. We do not use chemical pesticides, herbicides or fertilizers on our garden or pastures. The quality of our practices comes through in the quality of our products. We ascribe to the adage “We are what we eat” and we eat what our livestock and poultry ate.
