Boone Hall Plantation was founded in 1681 when Englishman Major John Boone came to Charleston and established a lucrative plantation and gracious home on the banks of Wampacheone Creek. The family and descendants of Major Boone were influential in the history of South Carolina, the colonies and the nation. The mansion that exists on Boone Hall Plantation today was built in 1936 by Canadian ambassador Thomas Stone as part of the Second Wave of Reconstruction. We also feature a strawberry festival, a pumpkin patch, Christmas tree festival, oyster festival, and a complete wedding venue in The Belle of The Hall. America’s most photographed Plantation.
