About Pe-R-Ly Meadows Farm
Our family owned and operated farm has been certified as an Organic farm by NOFA-NY since September 2003. We believe that Nature's way (the way God intended) is the best way for the animals, farm, family and community. We believe that the best way to raise animals is with no hormones, no antibiotics and no synthetic fertilizers or pesticides. Our cows are pasture fed in the summer, and fed hay in the winter months. They receive none to very little grain for supplementation during the winter as well. Our cows receive no hormones for milk production or fertility. Their milk production is 100% natural. They do NOT receive soy in any form or corn silage. Our poultry are pasture fed in the summer months with an on-farm mix of organic grains, vitamins, and minerals. We only have the laying hens and ducks over the winter. The laying flock is fed the same with the exception of hay in the winter months. Our pigs are fed a home-mix of organic grains, vitamins, and minerals. They are pastured during the grazing season and during the cold months are housed in a deep bedded open fronted shed. The spring piglets are moved into the young stock pens after the young cattle are put out to pasture. The pigs enjoy digging and composting the bedding pack from the winter. Our grain does not contain any animal by-product filler. It is made up completely of small grains and corn. hay; pasture
