About Longmeadow Farm

Animals are grass-fed and finished exclusively on a grass/legume diet. As such, we can maintain the proper omega 3 omega 6 fat balance and maximize the conjugated linolic acid (CLA)content. We use the European method of slow but steady growth that maximizes edible meat yield, without sacrificing marbling. Sides of beef are aged for 18-21 days, cut/wrapped to customer requirements, frozen and optionally delivered. All animals/products for sale have been born and raised on the farm. The cattle are pastured using a rotational grazing system from mid April through October and are always provided with free choice minerals and salt. The remaining months of the year the cattle are fed stored hay. The animals(except for the weaning period) are never confined to a building or feeding lot. Sides of beef are generally sold by mid to late summer time frame and delivered in November and December of each year. The land has been organically farmed since 1980.
