Located on 50 acres of upland pasture and forested hillsides in Bovina, The Green Shepherd Farm raises Finnish Landrace sheep (Finnsheep). Finnsheep are a hearty flock with a strong genetic diversity that lends itself to flourishing in the Catskills. The Farm was formed in 2008 and has been selling market lambs since 2011. Each year since the beginning, the farm has seen an increase in sales - almost consistently doubling. We are accredited by the Animal Welfare Approved organization in recognition of our commitment to ethical animal husbandry. The farm is also a member of Pure Catskills, and a founding member of Farming Bovina.
