About Sandhills Red Angus
Our ranch is located in a scenic lake valley along Highway 2, in the Sandhills of Nebraska and has been in the family since 1935. The Sandhills are very old dunes that have grassed over. Due to seasonal rains and good range management the dunes now blow very little. Sandhills grasses produce some of the finest beef in the world. The Sandhills sit on top of the Ogallala aquifer and windmills supply fresh water to our cattle from shallow wells. Out calves are weaned in November and grown until late August to be sold as beef. Natural to me means that you don't add anything that nature didn't create. We have the highest standards for health, natural growth and natural living conditions. Our cattle graze in the pasture on Native Sandhills grasses. We provide salt, mineral and fresh water. During the winter we supplement protein with alfalfa and when weather conditions are poor we feed hay. We DO NOT confine our cattle to feedlots or feed our cattle grain. We DO NOT use steroids or growth promotants. Only very sick cattle ever receive treatment with antibiotics, and this beef is marked as such. We handle our cattle as humanely as possible. Meat will be available in whole, half, quarter and eighth of a beef lots. We will ship frozen USDA inspected beef anywhere in the U.S. We would prefer to deliver live animals to your personal meat packer, however.
