About Honey in the Rock Farm and Apiary
Honey in the Rock Farm and Apiary is a veteran-owned family farm with a mission to draw sweet provision from the land to nourish our community and honor service. Located in East Helena, MT, we operate with the vision of restoring soil, spirit, and community by cultivating a legacy of joy in the Montana Rockies. Our diversified operation currently includes an apiary of 7 overwintered colonies producing raw honey and beeswax, a flock of 25 laying hens for pasture-raised eggs, and 4 acres of Sainfoin hay. In 2026, we are pivoting toward intentional, high-value agriculture by launching a cut flower operation and expanding our apiary to include queen rearing. Our "Vintage Treasures" flower line focuses on locally grown, chemical-free blooms that offer a superior alternative to imported stems. We market our products directly through a roadside stand, the Helena Farmers Market, and our "Community Blooms" subscription service. This grant will fund critical high tunnel infrastructure, allowing us to extend our short Zone 4 growing season and protect high-value crops from wind and hail—transforming our farm from a supplementary passion into a sustainable business where hope flourishes in every garden, hive, and shared moment.
