About Idle Wind Farms
We raise Registered Red Angus cattle for beef and seed stock providing heifer and bull for breeding. We also raise Akaushi Wagyu cattle for beef that is pure blood and crossed with our Red Angus. The cattle are raised on both pasture/hay and feed, a supplemental diet during finishing. Our hogs are farrow to finish and raised entirely outdoors in farrowing huts to when the hogs are finished. Our philosophy is using rotational grazing practices for our cattle. Cattle are moved from paddock to paddock on a 1 to 4 day basis depending on forage and pasture size. We see the positive impacts of regenerative agricultural practices on soil health and productivity. These have been implemented on our farming operation for nearly 15 years. We use locally sourced grain for our hogs and beef finishing diets that can include corn, wheat and barley. We use local processors in Washington, Lyon, Hermann, and Swiss for processing depending on availability and consumer wants.
