About Bowie Creek Orchard, LLC
This is a second generation orchard. My father started growing blueberries in this orchard along with peaches in the early 80's. He was one of the original blueberry growers in MS. As time passed we decided that peaches were not as feasible as blueberries, focusing 100% of our efforts on blueberries. Some of our bushes are 30 years old. When my father passed away I decided to establish Bowie Creek Orchard, LLC , a commercial blueberry farm operating since 2000. We currently farm 32 acres of blueberries. What Makes Our Products Great? We have been in the commercial blueberry business for so long now that we understand the process and commitment needed to produce large amounts of blueberries. They are top quality and distributed locally, regionally, and nationally. We take great pride in the product that we provide. What makes us most proud of producing Genuine MS products? There is pride in delivering a great product and being able to tell my friends, co-workers and consumers to go visit the local fruit stand because I grew those blueberries. We sale our blueberries to several local restaurants and I love to tell folks to dine in those white-cloth restaurants to try the fresh desserts being made with our product. How does buying Genuine MS products make a difference here in Mississippi? We are proud to be Mississippi farmers and sell a product that supports our local economy. Being Genuine MS is a guarantee that our products are from Mississippi. We are GAP certified and our employees are certified. Why should people seek out and buy Genuine MS products? Being a 2nd generation farmer, I am proud to say that my boys have been raised to work on the orchard as well. This has provided many life lessons and values for my family. I hope that the farm will be passed down for many generations to come. We are proud of the opportunities it has provided.
