Catoctin Mountain Orchard is a diversified third generation family farm that takes pride in providing its customers with highest quality, best tasting Fruit, Berries, and Vegetables while using the most environmentally friendly agricultural growing practices. Our 100 plus acres are nestled on the eastern slope of the Appalachian Mountain range where our rich soils and fresh mountain air enhances the flavor of our produce. Our on farm produced compost is applied thru out the farm which adds organic matter to the soil that allows the roots to move more freely gathering precious nutrients to the plants. We are located a mile and one half north of Thurmont, in northern Frederick County along scenic US Rt 15. We are seven days a week from May 1 Dec.31 and Fri., Sat., & Sun. for the month of Jan. As you enter the Market , you will see the colorful array of fruits and vegetables, but your sense of smell will lead you to our fresh baked fruit pies. After shopping, relax in our gazebo and enjoy the beauty of our wonderful mountain views. Be sure to bring your camera for those memorable moments of the children playing in our “Energy Release Area”. We are making plans for the fourth generation of the Harry Black Family to continue to give you the same high quality produce for years to come. Remember “Fresh Fruit For Better Health”! In the market, along with our fresh fruits and vegetables you will find jams, preserves, jellies, honey, maple syrup, relishes, pickles, salad dressings, our home canned peaches, our fresh baked or frozen fruit pies, apple dumplings, apple cider, dried fruits, trail mixes, nuts, local eggs & cheese, frozen custard, local crafts & gifts. You may Pick Your Own Black Raspberries, Sweet & Sour Cherries, Blueberries, & Flowers as available. Please call for picking information. PYO pumpkins available weekends only in October.
