Bourbon Red Heirloom Turkeys: There is no comparison to factory raised grocery store birds. Our Bourbon Red Turkeys are allowed to live a longer life with dignity. Unlike indoor factory raised birds, our turkeys take 7 to 8 months to reach marketable size. As soon as we can, we move them outdoors to a free range environment where they can live like "Real Turkeys." They are protected from predators but are free to roam, peck, and eat all the plant material and insects they can find. They are free to strut, sunbath, take dust baths and live an enjoyable stress free life as much as possible. The flavor and texture of the meat is naturally better than your store bought bird and we do not have to pump them up with "pretend butter" or other additives to give them flavor. We sell our turkeys through the local Bourbon County Farmers Market and offer them direct from the farm locally or through mail order
