About Inland Ocean Vineyards
Many wineries import grapes, frozen juice, or finished wine from other regions. That is not the case here! All of the wine made and sold at Inland Ocean Vineyards is from the grapes grown on the property. We started making wine many years ago now, and were frustrated that the most important component was not available here...GRAPES! There were none to be had locally! We didn’t want grapes transported days on a truck from California, or juice from vineyards that freeze and later sell the stuff they don’t want. No, we wanted fresh, cool, grapes picked early in the morning and processed right away - not days, weeks, or months later. Inland Ocean Vineyards was planted in April of 2018. It was planted in 3 phases so that the oldest grape plants are now 4 years old in 2022. After the 3-year planting phase completion, we now have 1400 vines. The vineyard is on 2 acres, yielded 12,000 lbs. of grapes, which is about 3,400 bottles of wine. With the maturation of the late plantings, we are hoping for 15,000 lbs. of grapes - or about 3,750 bottles.
