About Reichert's Dairy Air
Award winning fresh chevre and feta made in Iowa's first licensed micro dairy. We are a licensed “micro-dairy” located in rural Knoxville, Iowa. Lois milks about 15 - 20 LaMancha dairy goats and turns the high quality milk into delicious farmstead cheeses. The cheese is made in small batches, by hand, on a daily basis to ensure freshness of milk and the final product. We offer classic and flavored fresh chevre, fresh feta, and several surface-ripened European style cheeses. Robiola di mia Nonna is a geotrichum-ripened lactic disc aged for about 10 days. It is soft, delicate, and delicious at any stage! Robiolina di Reba is a washed rind "stinky" cheese similar to a tallegio, sticky and smooth in the middle with a pungent rind. We continue to develop new cheeses to add to our line, stop by our booth at Des Moines Downtown Farmer's Market to see what we have available! The mission of Reichert's Dairy Air is to create premium quality handmade farmstead goat cheese, making it available to consumers in Central Iowa.
