About 7 Generations Beef
Listed in the Choose Iowa Find Local directory. Rooted in Jasper County since 1863, 7 Generations Beef is the result of over a century of heritage, dedication, and innovation. It all began when John Gannon purchased two 4-H Angus heifers in 1930, sparking a lifelong commitment to raising high-quality Angus cattle. Through the decades, John and his family pioneered practices that helped shape the modern beef industry, with a focus on herd quality, consistency, and integrity. Today, that legacy continues with the 7th generation of the Gannon-Wasson family actively farming on the same land in Colfax, Iowa. At 7 Generations Beef, we raise all of our cattle right here on the farm—never purchasing from outside sources. Our cattle are carefully selected for superior genetics, grass-fed and corn-finished, and fed homegrown forage, with the exception of protein supplements. Our beef is the ultimate definition of “home raised.” From start to finish, it’s farm bred, family fed™, and proudly Iowa grown. We offer a variety of retail and bulk freezer beef options, including 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, and whole beef portions—providing Iowa families with premium beef they can trust.
