About Sifs Harvest
A little background on our name: Sif is the golden haired norse goddess of earth and the harvest, she is married to Thor, norse god of thunder and the common man. Natalie Oppedal is our CEO and chief designer. Natalie has a Bachelors of Architecture with minors in global studies and art history. Douglas Oppedal runs our operations side. He mainly does the growing, marketing and customer interaction. He has a BS in Biology from the University of Illinois Springfield. He has a keen interest in environmental issues, nutrient cycling and microbiology as such he is responsible for much of Sifs Harvest direction towards sustainable agriculture. Natalie and Douglas moved to Cedar Rapids in 2013/14. They were married in 2014 and bought the property that Sifs Harvest operates from in 2016. Since that time they have been slowly working on building the required infrastructure and growing beds.
