About Black Earth Gardens

Black Earth Gardens is a small-scale, regenerative farm that specializes in growing diversified vegetables, herbs, and fruits that are culturally important to Black communities in Eastern Iowa, with a focus on dismantling food apartheid and expanding food sovereignty locally. We are committed to making sure our produce is accessible to everyone, regardless of financial means or neighborhood--we offer discounts, scholarships, and payment plans; and we accept SNAP/EBT and Senior and WIC FMNP vouchers (aka senior & WIC checks) as payment. We regularly participate in pop-up farmers markets designed make healthy, high-quality produce more accessible to everyone. We grow our produce using organic methods (although we're not yet certified).
