About Acorn Ridge Farm
Acorn Ridge Farm is a small permaculture farm. We are building a fig orchard and also grow asparagus, southern peas, elderberries, culinary herbs and flowers. This farm provides an eco-habitat for pollinators, birds, turkeys and deer. Sustainable practices are used in growing food and flowers. Much of what is grown on the farm is used in the creation of unique small batch products for our Illinois Cottage Food Operation such as infused syrups, shrubs, herbal vinegars, vinaigrettes, marinades, pickled foods and jams take to farmers' markets in the area. We create small batch baked goods such as scones, muffins and focaccia incorporating Illinois grown grains and fruits and vegetables. Lastly, we produce a variety of culinary dry rubs and seasoning using Frontier Herbs and Spices. Think of Acorn Ridge Farm as a small batch cottage food operation that produces creative, high quality foods using locally sourced fruits, vegetables,herbs and grains in combination with traditionally sourced ingredients when local isn't possible.
