Prairie Hill Blueberry farm is a U-pick family run farm. It's hard to imagine that corn once stood where now roughly 800 blueberry bushes grow. The soil was amended for 3 years to ensure the proper acidity was reached. The 5 varieties of blueberry bush allow the season to span about 6 weeks. In early Spring the bushes will flower giving the farm's honey bees ample nectar while they pollinate the seeds which soon form blue gems of blueberry goodness. When the flowers drop we know it's only a handful of weeks before it's time to drop the rope and let pickers in to roam the field.
