Berries and Flour Bakery &Harvest Goods is a woman-owned wholesale food and culinary goods operation located on Preserve Farmstead in rural Champaign, Illinois. A melding of ecology, botany, agriculture, community food systems, and cooking, Berries and Flour uses many traditional edible plants in our products, some from local farms, some from fields, and some from our forests. Each of these Midwest plants has its own story to tell! By teaching about more time-honored regional foods, we encourage folks to eat closer to home and relish in their natural habitat . These practices are ever so important considering many of the economic, social, and environmental issues we face today. Our predominant “store fronts” are local farmers markets and wholesale sales. Our products can be found in our farm store, in bars and cafes, and in regional stores. Connect with us if you are interested in stocking our amazing products! Berries and Flour readily collaborates with individuals and organizations toward food accessibility and justice. We also work to educate our community, giving cooking demos, edible gardening lectures, and foraging workshops. Our commercial kitchen on Preserve Farmstead has changed the game for Berries and Flour as of 24 July 2024. Inspected and permitted for wholesale and manufacturing by IL Department of Public Health, these credentials enable us to scale the production of our own value-added products. More importantly, Berries and Flour can contribute much-needed processing services, equipment, and education to small-scale fruit and vegetable growers. Together, we can preserve more of the harvest and support our neighbors who produce and consume, all components of a strong local food system!
