About Father Earth Organic Farm
I became interested in gardening in the late 50's while working with a family in western Massachusetts. My father was a sharecropper for a vegetable farm. When school was out in the summer, our family of 6 boys and 2 girls would spend most days from sun up to sun down, harvesting vegetables for the market. My father died when I was 11 years old, but I continued to work on the farm. I liked the taste of fresh farm produce, so I was encouraged to begin growing my own vegetables. I spent some years in college and in the military, and I would always have something growing in the yard, or in my home, or any place I could find a space to plant something. In 1994, I began studying different gardening methods, including permaculture, bio-intensive gardening, wide row gardening, no dig, and hydroponic gardening. Today, I use what I have learned over the years, to grow the best organic produce I can by incorporating those gardening methods.
