About Moon + Oaks Farm
At Moon + Oaks Farm, we are committed to cultivating a lush, biodiverse landscape where humans participate as stewards within the ecosystem-woven into it, not apart from it. Inspired by the Chumash name for Ojai, which is derived from the Ventureño Chumash word ʼawhaý, meaning “moon” and oaks, which are keystone species in the Ojai Valley, our farm is a living commons where preservation meets innovation, and where soil, water, biomass and carbon cycles flourish supporting resilient habitats, abundant food, and strong community. We embody holistic and regenerative practices that reimagine farming as a force for ecological renewal and cultural vitality—producing nourishment as a byproduct of resilience rather than extraction. Moon + Oaks is also a gathering ground – a place of learning, rest, and connection, welcoming farmers, families, learners, listeners, and neighbors to share in the joy of thriving ecosystems, rich stories, and nourishing harvests. Rooted in Ojai and connected to broader communities, Moon + Oaks seeks to inspire pride, belonging, and collaboration—proving that farming can benefit the earth, foster abundance, and sustain generations to come. Crops/products: Hay Other, Native Seeds. Production systems: Agroforestry, Diversified, Hay / alfalfa, Native Habitat (Low / No Management), Orchard Crops. CFDN last update: November 17, 2025.
