About The Patch at Richardson Farms
We opened The Patch in the Fall of 2022 with "The Pumpkin Patch". We brought pumpkins in, planted zinnias and sunflowers, and had a 5 acre corn maze. It was a wonderful turnout from our community! We learned a lot that first year and decided the next year to grow our own pumpkins. They did wonderful and we had SO many. The families loved getting to go into the patch to pick their own pumpkins and take photos. This year, we have decided to open the end of June for a Watermelon Festival. We plan for this to be a huge hit, filled with fresh melons, vendors, water activities for the kids, and tons of Americana. The most fun we've had through this process is opening up weekdays to our local schools, for fieldtrips. We've had over 2,000 kids come through since we opened in the Fall of '22. It has been a joy to teach them about agriculture and farming. To see how they enjoy learning about the different crops as well as seeing the equipment is so fun! We are new to it all but look forward to the future!
