We are retired military and moved to AL in 2020. We live on 40 acres and have a pine tree forest, chickens and working dogs. We also attempt gardening, however the soil is very sandy so most growing must be done in raised beds. We’ve been successful with watermelon, cantaloupe, jalapeño, mint and potatoes so far. We tend to sell to friends and Facebook marketplace right now but would like to attend farmers markets next year.
